It's the Shoulder Season! 3. September 2014 AnOceanView Events (0) There's usually a lot of sad faces this time of year. Kids are going back to school, shore houses and seasonal businesses are preparing to close but before we get too depressed, take a look outside – it 80 degrees and Sunny! Labor Day may have come and gone but that only means one thing around here... The Shoulder Season has begun! Here are 5 things that we love about the Shoulder Season.1. The BeachLabor day does not “officially” mark the end of the Summer in fact, September features the finest beach weather of the year. With average air and water temperatures in the mid-70’s, reduced humidity (and reduced crowds) there is no better time to pack up the kids, park on the beach block and take up as much room as you want - the beach is yours!2. The BoardwalkAtlantic City, Wildwood, Ocean City. Not only are most of the boardwalk shops and rides still open, they often boast season ending sales. Stock up on your beach supplies, saltwater taffy and t-shirts – they are all on sale!3. The FestivalsThe shoulder season is full of local festivals and fairs – Irish Weekend in Wildwood and Sea Isle, the Cape May Wine Festival, Fall Fest in Margate. There is no shortage of things to do this month, check out our Event Calendar for all of fun happenings here in September.4. The TrafficWhat traffic? It’s gone for the season! Go for a nice drive on the Parkway, Route 50, Route 9, even Route 50 – no need to time your trip, the coast is clear until Memorial Day!5. The Races5K’s, Marathons, Bike Races, Triathlons… you name it, this is the season for great endurance events. The perfect weather and local scenery make September a great month to get out there and try something new!Do you have a favorite thing to do during the shoulder season? Let us hear about it!
